Burnham progress after victory over Ardley in the Premier Challenge Cup
The blues go through to the next round of the Cherry Red Records Premier Challenge Cup following a 3-1 win over Ardley United.
Despite going down to 10 men Burnham won their second round fixture at The 1878 Stadium with goals from Aitor Andon, Jaiden Oj Celestine-Charles and Jabir Laraba. The visitors from Bicester bagged a goal in the second 45 but it just wasn’t to be.
Locals Langley also went through last night 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw after the full 90 minutes. Both Burnham and Langley will now wait to find out who they will face in the 3rd round, an outcome that will be delayed due to three postponed matches on Tuesday night.
The blues will now continue their league campaign on Saturday with their last home game before Christmas against Virginia Water. Followed by Wokingham & Emmbrook away on the 12th, Holyport away on the 16th, Reading City at home on Wednesday 27th and finally their last game of 2023 away at Broadfields on Saturday 30th December.
